Dennis Diaz's Obituary
Dennis Diaz of Odessa, FL passed peacefully on March 6th, 2024. Dennis was born July 21st, 1947 in Manhattan, New York, to Dalia and Jose “Cheo” Diaz. Spending his youth in the Bronx, Dennis moved to Tampa, FL in the late 50’s where he met the love of his life, Patricia Diaz. Pat and Dennis were married on March 18th, 1972 and spent the next 52 years within arm's reach of each other. Dennis is survived by his eternal love, Pat, and their two children, Jonathan (Brandi) and Geoffrey. He also leaves behind three grandchildren Drew (Rachel), Olivia and Jeremy and one great-grandson, Logan.
Affectionately called “The Mayor of Belmack,” Dennis loved to patrol the streets of Belmack Acres keeping neighbors up to date on current issues and reminiscing of his time in the Navy on the USS Wilkinson or his service as a Hillsborough County Deputy Sheriff. He was especially proud of his career as an Exotic Fish Breeder and Importer and the time he spent with his sons in pursuit of his passions. However, nothing could surpass the love he had for his darling Pat. His eyes lit up when she entered the room and longed for her whenever she left. He spent every moment thinking of her and ensuring everyone knew his love for her had no bounds. She was his heart and he was hers.
Dennis will be intensely missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wishing to express sympathy consider making a memorial contribution to The American Cancer Society in his honor.
