Delmar Schwanke's Obituary
Delmar Hall Schwanke, beloved husband, dad, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at 90 years of age in Lutz, Florida.
Born in Painesville, Ohio on July 26, 1935, Del was the son of Emil and Florence Schwanke and the brother of Dolores (Schwanke) Canfield.
In July of 1956, Del married Joyce (Shick). Together they shared 52 years of marriage and raised their 4 sons; David, Bryan, Todd, and Keith.
Del was a proud graduate of Taylor University, graduating with a degree in chemistry. He took his skills as a chemist and became a Quality Assurance Operations Manager for The Lubrizol Corporation where he made his career and eventually retired after 36 years.
Del loved time with his family, his church, and sports. He was an avid traveler for both business and pleasure as well as many mission trips through his church. Above all, Del was a kind man who was a follower of Jesus Christ.
Years later Del married again to the late Patricia Meyer.
Del leaves behind his four sons, daughters-in-law, 14 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, Florida. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:30 with funeral service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Brain Tumor Society or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
