Deborah Kay Mentz's Obituary
Deborah Kay Mentz, 74, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, in New Port Richey, Florida. Born on November 1, 1951, in Newark, Ohio, Deborah was the daughter of John and Carol Fisher.
Deborah was truly the life of the party—a woman whose vibrant spirit, humor, and infectious energy filled every room she entered. She had a unique gift for making people feel welcomed, loved, and celebrated. A natural giver, Deborah dedicated countless hours to volunteering, uplifting those around her, and supporting her community. She proudly founded The W.E.W. Support Group, a meaningful extension of her lifelong desire to help others.
A devoted wife, she married Robert Edward Mentz on December 3, 1969, and together they shared 32 wonderful years of marriage before his passing. Deborah was a determined and successful entrepreneur, investing more than 55 years into her career, building businesses, and encouraging others to pursue their dreams with confidence and heart.
Family was Deborah’s greatest joy. She leaves behind her children, Robert Christopher Mentz and Robert Brian Mentz (wife Amy Mentz); grandchildren Nichole Fender (husband Steven Fender), Shyanne Mentz and Shaellyn Mentz; and her beloved great-granddaughter Kinsleigh Fender. Deborah is also survived by her brother John (Jean) Fisher, sister Jill (Juan) Garcia, and a cherished extended family of nieces, nephews, and loved ones. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Mentz, her parents, John and Carol Fisher, and her sister Lynn Burden.
Deborah supported several charitable causes dear to her heart, including Operation Smile and Habitat for Horses. The family offers special thanks to the Dr. Jay Weil Center for Hospice Care for their compassionate support.
A viewing will be held on Monday, March 9th, at 10:00 AM at Trinity Memorial Gardens, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Deborah will be laid to rest immediately afterward at 12:00 PM. These services will honor her joyful spirit, generous heart, and the love she shared so freely.
