David R. Lastinger's Obituary
David lived his life to the fullest and was always willing to lend a hand or offer a smile. He was beloved by many…his mother and dear sister Lisa were the first to get to love this full of life man. As his life continued, the numbers of people who adored and enjoyed his tender and lively soul grew.
Of course, the love of his life, Ellyn. Then his daughter Amy. And a special son Jonathan for the icing on the cake to complete his sweet, close and cozy family. Some of David’s favorite moments included coffee in the early morning with family, riding ATVs, scuba diving, gardening, playing golf, singing with the worship team at church, driving his truck, playing board games with family, and saying yes to any and all favors that were needed.
After a career in retail management, David spent the last five years at home. He was active with the children’s ministry and the worship team at his home church, Cypress Creek Church. He had many neighborhood friends and often would sit outside at dusk talking with neighbors. His mother Jeanne lived across the street and he had family dinners several times a week that included her.
David’s battle with a rare, aggressive cancer began in April of 2019. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, next to his wife at home, on July 22, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Ellyn, his son, Jonathan, his daughter, Amy (Erik) Ninnemann, his grandson, Lukas Ninnemann, his mother, Jeanne Wolchansky, his sister, Lisa(Craig) Allen, and his nephews, Jacob and Daniel Allen.
