Dale Henry Smith's Obituary
We announce the passing of Dale Smith, 95, on Wednesday October 12, 2022. A twenty-year resident of Trinity, FL and more recently residing at Arbor Terrace in Citrus Park, FL until his death. His passing was peaceful and without pain.
Born July 31, 1927 in Butler, Missouri, Dale is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marlene, daughter Sharyn, son David, daughter-in-law Eydie, grandchildren Chase, Sarah, Jessica, and Liam. Dale is also survived by his brother Donald.
Dale was a quiet man. Raised on a farm during the Great Depression, he learned to work hard and waste nothing. After high school he served in the Army at the tail end of World War II, then attended college at the University of Missouri, earning a BS in Agriculture. His strong work ethic served him well throughout his 41 year career with Trans World Airlines, eventually retiring in 1992. He met Marlene in Michigan, where they both were working, and they were married in 1957. After moving to Long Island, NY in 1960, they had two children and raised them from a home they created in Wantagh. Once they were empty nesters, they moved to Trinity Florida in 2002 and enjoyed many years of visits from grandchildren and friends.
Dale’s steadfast support and loyalty will be missed, and the lessons he gave us cherished. May he rest in peace.
We would like to thank the care and empathy shown to Dale and the family from LifePath Hospice of Tampa and the staff at Arbor Terrace in Citrus Park.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday November 5, 2022 at 1:30 PM at St. Ignatius of Antioch (715 E Orange St, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689).
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Dale’s memory to the American Cancer Society, (https://donate3.cancer.org).
