Clara Maddux 's Obituary
Maddux, Clara M. (Claire) 87 of Tampa, passed away peacefully April 24, 2019. Born in Brownfield Texas on September 1st, 1931, raised in Dill City, Oklahoma, she was preceded by her parents Fred and Gladys Keng, granddaughter Danielle Claire MontsDeOca, brothers Bill Keng (Louella) of Lewiston ID, Larry (Joy) Keng of Clinton OK, Sisters Wanda Mitchel of Anadarko OK, and Minnie (Ray) Cole of Sentinel OK. She is survived by her sister Ruby Nickels of Moore OK, daughter Brenda (Michael) Bettez of Wesley Chapel, 3 sons Randy (Becky) Maddux of Eagle Vail CO, Steve (Linda) Maddux and Jim (Jerri) Maddux of Zephryhills FL. 4 grandchildren, Jaime (Danny) Dye, Ryan Maddux, Jerry and Matthew MontsDeOca, 3 great grandchildren Joseph, Jerry and Olivia.
After graduating from Dill City High School, she attended Oklahoma State University, worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Oklahoma City, OK and later in Ft. Worth, TX where all of her children were born. Following a move to Duluth, MN, she was employed by St. Louis County Federal Savings and Loan, later changed to St. Louis Bank, beginning her career with the bank as a teller and working up to Branch Manager, then Branch Coordinator over all of the branches. While in Duluth she was a member of the West Duluth Businessmen's Association, Women's Business League, and Duluth Women's Bowling League. She retired from the Bank in 1992 after 23 years of service, and moved to Tampa to be near her children and grandchildren. Leaving retirement behind, she was employed by TamBay Realty as a Receptionist, Coldwell Banker and a final retirement from Florida Executive Realty. Claire enjoyed many years of a Red Hats Group where she made many long lasting friendships.
