Claire DeRemigis' Obituary
Claire Bernice DeRemigis, 95, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away at home on May 29, 2024. She was born in Baltimore, MD, on February 16, 1929, to Charles Edward Kirk and Clara Augusta Kirk. On June 26, 1949, she married the love of her life, Paul Camillo DeRemigis. The couple had three children, Paul, Giovanni, and Cristina, and they resided in Baltimore County. Over the years, their family grew, with the addition of 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Claire remained Paul’s devoted wife for 32 years of marriage until his passing in 1981.
Throughout her life, Claire worked as a Dictaphone typist and did secretarial work. Outside of her career, she enjoyed gardening, writing, cooking, bowling, playing Canasta, painting, and volunteering. Claire was a woman of faith, who lived her life dedicated to God and family. She gave 100% of herself in everything she did, and always gave back to her community, volunteering at Armacost Nursing Home, teaching children's bible classes at church, and preparing meals for the church's soup kitchen. She held the positions of President of Sodality and President and Secretary of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Claire is survived by her children, Paul DeRemigis Jr. (Linda) of Baltimore, MD, Giovanni DeRemigis II (Jodey) of Weston, FL, and Cristina (DeRemigis) Chisholm (Dave) of New Port Richey, FL; her sister Carol Napoli (Don) of South Bend, IN; her 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Camillo DeRemigis and her sister Mary Cover (Bill).
Claire will always be remembered and loved for her generous heart and her unconditional passion and love for her children and grandchildren. She was a blessing to all who knew her, and she will be truly missed.
The church has requested that any flowers sent to their location be scheduled for delivery prior to 11:30 am on June 28th due to their summer hours.
