We send our sincere sympathy to Dee and family circle on the passing of Charles/Sneakers. We have many happy memories of a kind and gentle person whom we met through our relatives Nan and Jackie Burke. You are in our thoughts at this difficult time. He was very excited to know that two towns in Ireland were named for him: Charlestown and Irvinestown and he was delighted to visit both of these towns on his trip to Ireland where we enjoyed the pleasure of his company.

I am very sad to hear that my oldest friend has passed away. We have been friends for over 65 years. We went to grammar and high school together and for 12 years we were in the same school room. We were also in the same Marine Corps unit. I wish I was able to travel and attend the services bur health issues prevent me from travelling.

We had many fine times together and I will miss our conversations and emails. Charlie was on my mind frequently and he will continue to be in my thoughts as good friends cannot be forgotten, So long old pal and SEMPER-Fi.
