Chandreshwari Prasad Singh's Obituary
Chandreshwari Prasad Singh, 86, of Lutz, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023. He was born on November 21, 1937 in a small village in Bihar, India, where he dreamed of coming to America for education. He began his journey on December 28, 1963 to Auburn University and then to Chicago where he established a prosperous life for his family as an industrial engineer. By November of 1972, he was able to reunite his family under one roof in America where he guided his four children with love and strict discipline molding each into unique and successful adults. For much of his life, he worked tirelessly to help family and friends immigrate to America to achieve their dreams of education, and a fulfilling, prosperous life. He also helped family that are in India to achieve their dreams as well.
He was a loving husband to Sumitra for more than 65 years and a wonderful father to Nootan, Neeta, Sunanda, Nili and their spouses. He was also a devoted grandfather to nine grandchildren (Avinash, Marissa, Avani, Avilasha, Niraj, Priya, Samara, Anand, and Chaitan) and a great grandfather to Leo. He worked as an engineer, enjoyed socializing and playing bridge with friends and family as well as putting a smile on the face of all he met. In Greensboro, NC, he helped establish the Greensboro Hindu Society and Temple. He was a cornerstone of our community and will be missed by all who knew him for the wisdom, support, and smiles he brought everywhere he went. He loved America for the opportunity and life it gave him and his family.
We are grateful for the time we had with him and the legacy he left behind; he will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.
Services are to be held on Tuesday, December 12th at Trinity Memorial Gardens. The family invites you to come visit with them at 11:00 am with the service to follow after. The reception is set to start at 12:30 pm.
