Catherine "Cathy" Spedale Carriere's Obituary
Cathy Carriere, age 63, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025. Born and raised in New Orleans, Cathy spent the past 44 years in Tampa, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Spedale, and is survived by her loving mother, Wilmae Spedale; her devoted husband of 40 years, Daren Carriere; her sons, Andrew Blaise Carriere, Benjamin Joseph Carriere (Melissa), and Christian Thomas Carriere (Elaini); her cherished grandchildren, Blaise and Isabella “Izzy” Carriere; her sister, Johanne Spedale; and her brothers, Joseph Spedale and Thomas Spedale (Melissa).
Cathy was a proud graduate of Dominican High School and attended Dominican College, both in New Orleans. Later in life, she earned her nursing degree from Irwin Technical School, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She worked at St. Joseph Hospital Main before transitioning to home health care, where she continued to serve others with compassion and dedication.
Cathy had a deep passion for tracing her family genealogy and found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Her favorite moments were weekends spent in the backyard pool, which she lovingly referred to as her “earthly heaven.”
A visitation will be held at Trinity Cemetery on Saturday, October 25, at 10:00 AM, followed by a chapel service at 11:00 AM and burial immediately after. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
