Catherine Brannen's Obituary
BRANNEN, Catherine B., 79, of Lutz, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2015. She passed away peace- fully in her sleep. She was born the daughter of the late Burley Brannen and Minnie Bell Nelson. Cathy was a devoted and loving mother and beloved grandmother. Her passion for family and strong belief in God gave her peace in her life. Born in Shady Grove, Florida near Perry, she was so proud of her smalltown roots and loved sharing her stories as a young girl growing up on a farm. She was a popular and involved teenager at Taylor County High where she played bas-ketball and was a majorette in the band. Cathy later moved to Miami to help her cousin with her modeling agency. There she modeled, gave water ski lessons and eventually became a radio personality with her own talk show. Moving to Tampa to raise her three children, Julie, Sharon and Keith, she worked for Gasparilla for twenty years and USF for ten. Cathy dedicated her life to her children and eight grandchildren. She cherished her family and spent her time surrounded by them whenever she could. She was a proud Seminole fan and a long-time member of Tims Memorial Presbyterian Church in Lutz. Cathy is survived by her daughters, Julie Watts, Sharon King; her son, Keith Landry; her grandchildren, Stephanie Watts, David & Taylor King, Jordan, Jared, Shelbi, Kaci & Jaxon Landry. A Memorial Service is sche-duled for Sat. April 25, 11 AM at Trinity Memorial Gar-dens Chapel, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, Florida. Reception to follow service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association Tampa Bay Heart Walk are appreciated.
