PENCE, Brian C. passed away July 8, 2014 at 72. He was born in Valparaiso, IN on October 30, 1941 to Gerald and Florence Pence. He married his high-school sweetheart, Merry (Schliephake) in 1962. Together, they raised two daughters. Brian was a driven professional and worked as personnel director for Solo Cup and US Steel. Brian was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be terribly missed by his wife Merry, kids Connie (Tony) Galietti and Cheryl (Willie) DeGroot, grand kids Kristen, Branden and Nikki, and furry feline buddies Dino and Dylan. He leaves a brother (Al), many brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. Brian is predeceased by his parents and his sister Nancy (Jerry) Blacksten.
He had a great passion for Notre Dame football, IU basketball, the Cubs (there's always next year!), and gambling (these tickets suck!). He was active with the Moose Lodge 2366 and a member of the NCOA and the American Legion.
Those who knew him will miss his wit, humor and infectious smile. He left this life exactly how he lived it - His Way.
