Brian Keough's Obituary
Brian Joseph Keough passed away at the young age of 61 at 10:55pm, Friday, January 6, 2017, at Gulfside Hospice & Pasco Palliative Care after a courageous 20-year battle with cancer.
He was born in Castlepollard, Ireland, then adopted as an infant by Joseph and Marie (Conlon) Keough of Niagara Falls, New York. He graduated from Niagara University with a degree in Trade, Travel, and Tourism in 1978. He worked as a travel guide throughout France and then taught English in Spain where he met his wife, Pamela. Following their move to Florida, he earned his degree in Education and worked as an elementary and middle school teacher.
Brian was greatly involved with the American Cancer Society, leading various Relay for Life events. He was also a member of the choir at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Pembroke Pines. Dedicated to education, Brian was Teacher of the Year on several occasions and named a Broward County finalist for Teacher of the Year. A doting husband, father, and grandfather, he cherished his time with family and embraced life with humor, mischief, and the excitement of a child. He is survived by his wife, Pamela (Marcos) Keough, with whom he shared 36 loving years of marriage; two daughters, Nora (Keough) Light, wife of Timothy Light, and Paola (Keough) Curran, wife of Kyle Curran; two granddaughters, Cira Light and Cayla Curran; and his beloved dog, Seamus. Brian is the cherished brother of Frank Keough of Maine, Mark Keough of the UK, Deirdre (Keough) Ball of Singapore. Brian was preceded in death by Siobhan (Keough) Rogers of New York.
