Barbara Elizabeth Robon's Obituary
Barbara Elizabeth Robon, 83, of Lutz, Florida, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on
February 16, 2023. Barbara was born in Albany, NY, on February 1, 1940 to Anne M. and
Thomas J. Thomas - their only child.
Barbara married her first husband, who was in the Army, and had the opportunity to live in
various places like Georgia and Germany. During their 10 years of marriage, they welcomed two
children, Kristine (Ramon) Auders and Kevin (Sherrie) DeRubbo.
Barbara later met and blended families with Robert Robon on July 5, 1977. Robert had four
children from a previous marriage - Robert (Hilary) Suppa, Stephen (Donna) Suppa, Ruth
Youdelman and Laurie (Charles) Chiaramonte. Together, Robert and Barbara moved to Florida
in June 1981 and created a medical company, Robon Enterprises, catered to medical imaging
accessories.
Barbara was an avid volunteer in the gift shop at St. Joseph’s Hospital-North. She enjoyed
spending time with her social club, winning big at the casino with neighbors and friends, loving
on her 10 grandchildren, and celebrating life with a chocolate or dirty martini. Barbara will be
deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her six children and their spouses, 10 grandchildren and one great
grandchild. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 42 years Robert (d. 2019) and her
parents, Anne and Tom.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude for the wonderful help and care provided by St.
Joseph’s Hospital ICU and Melech Hospice House.
A celebration of life will be held in Barbara’s honor on Friday, March 3 at 10 a.m. at Trinity
Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, FL, 34655, followed by interment at Florida
National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Friends and family are later invited to Kristine and
Ramon’s home. Attendees are asked to wear party attire to celebrate Barbara.
