Barbara Ann Bell's Obituary
Barbara Ann Bell passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024 after 87 beautiful years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buell Wesley Beadle and Mary Alberta McLenon and her brother, Donald Beadle.
Barb is survived by her sweetheart, James “Jim” D. Bell, her daughters Cindy (Steve) Smith, Terri (Momin) Khalil, her grandchildren Sabrina, Nadia, Aliya, Wes, and Nikki, her sisters-in-law Martha Bell and Jacqueline Bell, and her nieces and nephews, along with a myriad of friends.
Born in Manhattan, Kansas, Barb spent her earliest years in Chicago, Illinois, and ultimately graduated from Sherman E. Burroughs high school in China Lake, California. She worked first as an executive secretary and grew into additional roles over the years as a real estate agent, typist, notary public, software trainer, and even as an official civil defense block mother during the Cold War, before she ultimately decided she would enjoy a permanent vacation upon her move to Florida with her husband Jim in 1985.
Barb was known for her clever humor and kind heart. Her jokes were very distinctively “Barb.” More than anything, she loved making people smile. She had many artistic talents, including sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, and quilting. Her crafts were not only for friends and family to enjoy, but every year until her hands would allow, she handmade and donated quilts to foster children. She also loved cats, music, and all sorts of games: she was a bowling league champion, a tennis and ping-pong player, and a dancer.
Barb lived an exceptionally full and happy life. She is so loved by all of her family and friends and will be missed dearly.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 17th at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral services and burial are at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Dr, Trinity, FL 34655.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made on her behalf to Martha’s Vineyard in Paducah, Kentucky to help feed those in need via Venmo @mvineyard40.
