Avis King's Obituary
Mrs. Avis Campbell King, age 88, passed peacefully at her residence August 5, 2016, surrounded by her devoted family. Mrs. King was a native of Trelawny, Jamaica, retiring to Palm Bay, FL in 1994 from Mt. Vernon, NY She was a daughter of the late Alfred Campbell and Mary Ogle. Mrs. King was a dietary aide at Mt. Vernon hospitals.
Mrs. King enjoyed attending non denominational worship. She loved her gardening, feeding wildlife, which included the neighborhood birds and cats.
Other than her parents, Mrs. King was preceded in death by her husband of 10 years, Rupert King in 1981, a precious son, Gladstone McKenzie, and a sister Ivey Ince.
Mrs. King is survived by her son , Norman King, her daughter, Norma King McKenzie, and husband, Michael McKenzie (1) granddaughter, Natalie Ricketts, (1) grandson, Alex King, (1)great granddaughter, Kai, Ricketts, (1)Great Grandson, Isaiah King, her brother, David Campbell, her nephew, Merrick Ince and Niece, Dorothy Ince Small.
The family of Mrs. King will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 am to noon at the Trinity Memorial Gardens Chapel. The funeral service will be immediately following at 12:00 pm. Pallbearers selected by the family are Norman King, Alex King, Michael McKenzie, Merrick Ince and Eric Jacobs. Reverend Althea Winston will officiate. Interment will be immediately following in The Garden of Immaculate Conception, Trinity Memorial Gardens, 12609 Memorial Dr., Trinity, Fl.
