Attilio Graziaplene's Obituary
Attilio Graziaplene, 89, of Odessa, FL, passed away on January 22, 2025. He was born in Staten Island, NY on November 27, 1935, to Attilio and Mary Graziaplene. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in college, majoring in business administration, but soon enlisted in the United States Army. During his time in the Army, he served in the Korean War as a radio operator and received a Good Conduct Medal. Following his military service, he returned to Staten Island and served as both a firefighter and police officer in New York City. He later lived in West Covina, CA, before eventually settling in Port Richey, FL, where he became a middle school mathematics teacher in the Pasco County School system.
Attilio married Frances Graziaplene, and the couple started a family together, with the birth of their three children, Debbie, Steve, and Matthew. Over the years, their family grew, with the addition of seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Attilio and Frances remained happily married for 51 years until her passing in 2011.
Attilio was a much-beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He amused his family and friends alike with his quick wit and amazing sense of humor. He enjoyed all sports and loved to cook, but eating sweets was his favorite pastime; cookies, cakes, and pies always brought a smile to his face.
Attilio is survived by his daughter Debbie Garcia (Keith), sons Steve Graziaplene (Tracy) and Matthew Graziaplene, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Graziaplene, his parents Attilio and Mary Graziaplene, and his sisters Jean Brennan and Phyllis VanName.
