Art Nickel's Obituary
Art Nickel, 80, surrounded by his family, went to be with the Lord on October, 30, 2019 in Tampa, FL.
Art was born on April 19, 1939 in Westhausen, Germany to parents, Theodore and Annelise. Before moving to the United States in 1960 he studied Tool and Dye-Making and Engineering. Art married the love of his life, Sally in 1964 and they made their home and started a family in South Florida. After a successful career, Art and his wife purchased My Brother’s Place Campground in 1994 in Houlton, ME where they spent their summers. Art took great pride in their campground and enjoyed meeting new friends every season.
Art is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sally, sons Karl (Jodi) and John (Katie) and his grandchildren, Emma, Abby and Will. Art was a known family man, and his grandchildren were the light of his life.
Art will be remembered by all that were honored to have known him as a loving husband, father and Grampie, avid golfer, and a jack of all trades with charm and a quick wit. Although he was a quiet man, when he spoke, he always made a lasting impression. He had a heart of gold and will be sorely missed.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Trinity Memorial Gardens, located at 12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, FL 34655. Friends and family visitation will be from 1:30pm – 3:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm.
