Antoinette "Toni" McGuckin's Obituary
Antoinette “Toni” McGuckin, passed away on September 18th, 2021. Toni was married to Kevin McGuckin, deceased in 2008, and had one child, Michael Raymond. In 2020, Toni became a grandmother for the first time when her son and his wife had their first child, Kinsley Jo.
This past February, Toni was asked to give some words of wisdom after turning 70 and she simply said, “stay positive”. These words of encouragement coming from someone who battled neuropathy, RA, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue for far too long is a testament to who she was as a person.
Toni spent much of her professional career as an engineer for ATT/Ma Bell in Illinois as well as a stint as a fitness instructor and director of fitness for Mt. Prospect Parks department.
When health permitted, Toni loved staying active and traveling with her family. Toni was also a big movie buff, she especially loved her “rom coms”. She greatly enjoyed a glass of Pinot Grigio or chardonnay, as long as it wasn’t too “oaky” as she would describe it. Toni loved “Bucky” badger as a huge Wisconsin Badger fan. So much so that she took her last breath wearing a Wisconsin Badger shirt. She relished on experiencing Bucky’s 5th Quarter. On Wisconsin!
Toni was a loving mother who was active in all her son’s extracurriculars including being “homeroom mom” all through elementary school and “team mom” for his little league baseball teams.
A funeral mass will be held for Toni on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021 at 11am at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Lutz, FL.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations are made to Children’s Cup Ministry or to the church. Link for Children’s Cup can be found here.
