Angela S. Howard's Obituary
ANGELA HOWARD
Our beloved Angela Langley Howard, 65, died peacefully on March 6, 2021 with her husband of 43 years, Mike Howard, by her side. Angela, a Florida native, grew up in Perrine, Homestead, and Bonita Springs. After graduation from Cypress Lakes High School, she came to Tampa to attend Patricia Stevens Career College. She then began working for the City of Tampa and retired from there in 2004 after 30 years of service. During that time, she met the love of her life, Mike, earned her AA degree from Hillsborough Community College, graduated cum laude with a BA in accounting from St. Leo University, and advanced her career to the position of supervisor of the payroll section in the Accounting Division of the city. Here too she made many life-long friends, some of whom she traveled with over the years. Angela enjoyed and took great pride in her professional career and continued to work after retirement from the city. Her favorite job was as the bookkeeper with the Lutheran Church of Our Savior and its parochial school. Her final work adventure was with Intercruisies Shoreside & Port Services at the Port of Tampa, assisting with the processing of cruise ship passengers as they prepared for departure. This was perfect for her, since she had such a passion for traveling. She and Mike shared this passion, visiting every US state, all the Canadian provinces and 1 territory, many islands in the Caribbean, and several countries in Central America, South America and Europe. They usually managed a couple of vacation trips a year during their marriage, with Angela taking many, many pictures everywhere! She also loved flower gardening, playing cards and games with friends and family, exercise classes, decorating for holidays, participating in activities in her community, and of course, her dogs! Petite, pretty, and bubbly, Angela was gracious and kind to everyone she met. Her ready smile, genuine interest in others and loving nature warmed hearts and helped her develop lasting friendships. She also had a quick wit and a fun sense of humor, especially since she put up with Mike’s corny jokes. Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mae Boothe Langley, Angela is survived by her adoring husband, Mike, her extended Langley, Boothe, Howard, and Beasley families, her beloved dog MacKenzie, and numerous friends.
