Amelita Macion Ramos Marquez's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the untimely passing of Amelita (Amy) Marquez, age 64, of Tampa on January 20, 2021. She was born in the Philippines in 1956 to Francisco and Socorro Ramos (Macion). She graduated from Chinese General Hospital College of Nursing in 1978 with a Nursing degree. She courageously immigrated to the United States in 1979. She worked tirelessly as a nurse for over 40 years giving her unselfish love, kindness, generosity and support to countless patients and their families. She was a devout Catholic, attended mass daily, traveled to Haiti to perform missionary work, organized weekly mass at a nursing home, and was known for always putting others before herself. She was a loving daughter, a caring and supportive sister, a devoted mother, and a child and servant of God. She is survived in life by her son Mark Marquez, her father Francisco Ramos, her brother Frank Ramos Jr., her sister Leonida Solomon (Ramos), and her sister Evelyn Cruz (Ramos). She is preceded in death by her mother Socorro Macion, and her sister Magdalena Perrone (Ramos). Viewing will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens (12609 Memorial Drive, Trinity, FL 34655) on Tuesday January 26 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Corpus Christi (9715 N 56th Street, Temple Terrace, FL 33617) on Wednesday January 27 at 10:30am followed by burial at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
