Amelia A. Esgro's Obituary
Amelia A. "Emily" Esgro, of Tampa, FL, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2025, just one day shy of her 83rd birthday, leaving a legacy of love and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Born on October 31, 1942, in Cuervo, Texas, to Jose and Isabelle Elizondo, Emily grew up in Yoakum, Texas, as one of twelve children. She is survived by her cherished siblings Sarah Arispe, Joe Elizondo, Alicia Padilla, and Rosa Pizzi.
Emily was a devoted wife to her late husband, Robert Esgro, with whom she shared 17 years of marriage until his passing in 2020. She was previously married to John W. Grosso, Sr. for 20 years, and together they had five wonderful children. John passed away in 2023.
An amazing mother whose warmth and nurturing spirit enriched the lives of her five children: John W. Grosso, Jr. and his wife Lisa; Robert "Bobby" Grosso and his wife Gloria; Lynn Walsh and her husband Jeffrey “Jeff”; Joseph “Joe” Grosso and his wife Pamela “Pam”; and Richard “Rick” Grosso. Her love for her children was boundless, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and happiness.
Emily adored her eight grandchildren: John W. Grosso III (deceased, 2009), Logan Grosso, Alyssa Grosso, Alexandra Henderson, Victoria Walsh, Dylan Grosso, Gianna Barstead, and Garrett Grosso. She is also survived by her four beautiful great-grandchildren: Rose McGowen, Eloise Henderson, Millie Grosso, and Krew Grosso.
Her family will forever treasure the values she instilled in them; unconditional love, faith, forgiveness, compassion, resilience, and the importance of family. Mostly for her unwavering strength!
She dedicated her life to caring for others, a calling that she pursued passionately throughout her extensive 40-plus years as a Medical Assistant, and she cherished the many medical professionals that she worked alongside in the Tampa Bay area.
Emily's kindness extended beyond her family & friends; she had a unique ability to touch the hearts of everyone around her with her gentle spirt and caring demeanor. She found joy in simple pleasures and had a gift for making others feel valued and loved.
A celebration of Emily's life will be held at Trinity Memorial Gardens on December 13, 2025, at 11 a.m., with Chapel services to begin at 12:00 Noon. All who knew and loved her are invited to join in remembering a remarkable woman whose legacy will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Forever remembered and forever missed. Rest in peace, dear Emily—your memory lives on.
