Ambrosio Nisperos Flores, Jr.
June 30, 1938 – December 6, 2025
Ambrosio “Jun” Nisperos Flores Jr., a 20-year resident of Wesley Chapel, passed away peacefully in Tampa, Florida on December 6, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born on June 30, 1938, to Teresa Nisperos Flores and Ambrosio R. Flores in Manila, Philippines.
Ambrosio attended the University of Santo Tomas in Quezon City, Philippines, earning a bachelor's degree in architecture. He began his career designing numerous homes and buildings in and around Manila. He met Cristina Laico shortly thereafter, and they both married on August 14, 1966. Ambrosio was offered a job at an architectural firm in Chicago, Illinois in 1969 and immigrated to the United States, settling with his wife and two young children in Chicago. He and his family then moved to the south suburbs of Chicago, where he and Cristina raised their three children. Ambrosio’s architectural contributions included numerous well-known structures throughout Chicago and the United States – O’Hare International Airport, The CNA Building (aka Big Red), and Universal Studios Orlando to name a few. In 2004, he and his wife both retired and re-located to Wesley Chapel, Florida.
Ambrosio was the eldest of 15 children. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Jaime Flores, Eduardo Flores, Douglas Flores, Teresita Tuazon, Herbert Flores, Rodolfo Flores, and Lourdes Flores.
He is survived by two brothers and five sisters: Napoleon Flores, and Ambrosio Flores, III, Eleanor Flores, Irene Flores Reyes, Amelia Flores Tumang, Amytes Flores Quiason, and Josephine Flores.
Ambrosio was a devoted husband to his late wife, Cristina, who passed away in 2024. He was also a loving father to his three children: Teresa Jones (Hal) of Midland, MI, Alfonso Flores (Helena) of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, and Jonathan “JJ” Flores of Eagle Rock, CA. Ambrosio was a proud grandfather to his seven grandchildren: Corey Damocles, Cleric Damocles, Samantha Damocles, Justin Flores, Micah Damocles, Alyssa Flores, and Jaxon Potter-Flores.
