Alex Fasano's Obituary
Alexander F. Fasano
July 5,1948-April 13,2025
Alex passed away on April 13, 2025. He left this earth the same way he lived his life, keeping everyone on their toes and guessing right up until the end.
He graduated from Mineola High School in 1966. While there, he excelled in sports and played varsity baseball, football and basketball. He was named Nassau County's best centerfielder in 1965 and 1966. Though he moved all over the country throughout his life, Alex always stayed loyal to his New York teams - specifically the Yankees, the Giants, and the Rangers.
Alex, the eldest son of Alexander and Joan Fasano, was predeceased by his parents & his sisters Donna McVey and brother-in-law Robert (Bobby) McVey. He is survived by his siblings, Frank (Su Cha), Susan (Steve), and Michael; as well as 2 children, Alex aka Butch (Trish) Fasano and Tracy (john) Cahill, 4 grandchildren, 6 nieces & nephews, 7 great nieces & nephews and 6 great great nieces & nephews.
Alex had an incredible gift for storytelling. He could take the most ordinary moment and spin it into something unforgettable. He made people laugh- real, belly-shaking, tears-in-your-eyes laughter- and found the light even in the toughest of times. He stood fiercely beside the people he loved, never wavering, always staunchly cheering them on.
His absence leaves a space that can never be filled- but his spirit, his stories, and his love will echo through the lives of those who were lucky enough to be loved by him.
