Alejandrina Velez's Obituary
Our beautiful Mother, Alejandrina Velez, widow of Francisco Velez, passed away at age 90 on Thursday May 25th, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico on January 12th, 1933. She was the second to oldest daughter of Carmelo Rivera and Luz Maria Acosta. Aleja was a seamstress and she sew wedding dresses at her residence in Puerto Rico and later worked in textile production in Chelsea Massachusetts where she continued to raise her beloved children’s.
Aleja (Nick name) was a vivacious woman of faith that would fill lives with her energy, zest, laughter and her love for Jesus Chris our savior. Always with a big and beautiful smile. She loved the Lord and was baptized and even though she was not able to attend church anymore, she spoke the word of God and pray every night. Also had a generous and giving spirit.
She enjoyed a good family game of Bingo and Dominoes. Some of her hobbies were crocheting, gardening and shopping.
Aleja loved deeply and would spend most of her life taking care of her family. She was blessed with 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, who brought her much happiness and joy. She cherished every moment she spent with her large family.
Alejandrina was much loved and blessed and will be greatly missed by her surviving children: Nancy Centeno and her 3 children Alex; Cathy, Larry and grandchildren, Evelyn Troche her spouse Manuel and 3 children Eddie, Carlos Bruno (deceased) and Grandchildren, Ernesto Luis Troche his spouse Belen and his 2 children Luisito, Janet, Grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, Eduardo Troche and his child Eddie (deceased), Marisol Troche her spouse Mark Dials and her 2 children Angelica, James Ely and grandchildren, also her surviving siblings 6 sisters and 1 brother and many nieces and nephews and all other extended family /Friend and all that she touched with her kind heart.
Aleja will be missed here on earth, but heaven rejoices at gaining a new Angel.
