Albert E. Wise's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Albert E. Wise, who departed this world peacefully on April 8, 2026, at the age of 86, under the compassionate care of Chapters Hospice at the Melech Hospice House. Born on October 3, 1939, in Memphis, Tennessee, Albert was a beacon of warmth and joy, touching the lives of many with his boundless energy and infectious smile.
Albert was the cherished son of the late Alvin Wise and Juanita McEachran and was predeceased by his beloved brother, William G. Morgan. His legacy continues through those who survive him, including his devoted wife, Roxie (Warren), with whom he shared a loving marriage of over 61 years since their wedding on March 20, 1965. Together, they built a beautiful family, which includes their children, Albert Wise, III (Cindy), Dorothy Young (Pat), and Rhonda Livak (Mark). Albert took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Elizabeth Kripas (Josh), Max Wise (Cassandra), Samantha Goodman (Justin), Sally Michelle Pepenella, and Joseph Albert Pepenella. He also delighted in the joy of being a great-grandfather to little Julia Kripas.
Albert's family extended beyond bloodlines, as he was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews spread across Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and Massachusetts. His presence was a source of joy and comfort, and his laughter and stories will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A self-made man with an industrious spirit, Albert established himself as a plumbing and heating contractor in 1967, starting in Memphis and expanding his business into Mississippi and Arkansas. In 1983, he moved his ventures and family to Tampa, creating a thriving business that bore testament to his dedication and hard work.
Albert was not only a successful businessman but also a man of community and adventure. A passionate Harley Davidson enthusiast, he journeyed through all 50 states, leading and inspiring others as a past director of the local Sunshine HOG chapter. His community spirit shone brightly in his roles as the former president of the Fisherville TN Civic Club and as a volunteer mounted deputy for the Shelby County TN Sheriff's Department. Albert and Roxie were known for their generosity and kindness, spending years spreading joy as Mr. and Mrs. Santa for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Tampa Bay.
Albert's zest for life was evident in his love for spending time on his boat with family, where laughter and stories were shared under the open sky. He was a natural entertainer, forever bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
A celebration of Albert’s life will take place on April 15, 2026, as family and friends gather to honor a remarkable man whose spirit will forever be a guiding light. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Albert’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN, or Chapters Hospice Melech House, organizations that were dear to his heart.
Albert E. Wise leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure. His life was a testament to the power of kindness, determination, and joy. He will be deeply missed, yet fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
