    Leonidas Pergantis

    July 28, 1935 - January 28, 2022

Leonidas Ioannis Pergantis. Born at Andros, Greece. Fell asleep in the Lord peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Leonidas worked as oilman on the Panama Ship for a few years until he and his wife Ekaterina decided to come to America in 1967 to live the American dream and succeeded. He moved to Watertown, Massachusetts with his wife where they raised 4 children. His love for His Orthodox Faith, His Church and of the Greek Heritage was reflected on all those that knew him especially his children and family. Faithful stewards for over 40 years of the Greek Orthodox Taxiarchae Church in Watertown. He served on the Parish Council for many years and always volunteered for his Church community. He also was a member and served on the board of the Andros Society of Boston. Working in the construction business with his brothers, mastered the technique, and opened his own business, Louis Painting Construction Co. He loved his family and loved to play Tavli “The Master” they called him, along with his wonderful musical talent playing his violin, but, above all his love for the Island he came from Andros. He had a heart of Gold and was a humble person that loved everyone that crossed his path. He leaves behind his loving wife Ekaterina of 59 beautiful years. His children, Maria (+George) of Greece, Irene (Konstantinos), Antonia and is preceded by his son who recently passed less than 10 months +Ioannis (Thalia). His grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brother Michael (Lubov) and sister Polixeni (+Ioannis) of Greece. Many nieces and nephews, family, and friends around the world. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Rest in peace! May Your Memory Be Eternal! In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. George Philoptochos, NPR https://abundant.co/stgeorgeorthodox/give in loving memory Leonidas Pergantis.
