Irving Weiner

Dr. Weiner was a hero to me as a young psychologist. I followed him to APA, SPA, and Rorschach Workshops for years. He lived the model role of a psychologist and I aspired to soak in all the knowledge he shared. What an inspiration and what a gift to have had the opportunity to learn from such a scholar.

Irv was a highly respected scholar and leader in the field of personality assessment and a warm and caring human being. He will be missed, but his legacy lives on in his writings and through the work of the many students and colleagues he mentored over the course of his illustrious career.

Dr. Irv Weiner was a leader in the American Psychological Association as well as several of its divisions. He was an internationally recognized scholar in terms of his work with the Rorschach and with performance-based personality tests. In addition to being a well-respected clinical psychologist, I understand that he was a beloved academician!

So sorry to hear of Irv’s passing. He and Fran were probably the first neighbors we met, and we enjoyed sitting around the pool, talking about current events, good books and family. They offered their condo, one floor down from ours, when our first grandchild was born.

We enjoyed our encounters with Irving and Fran when we happened to meet up at Mansions by the Sea at social events when we both happened to be in residence at the same time. Steve and I extend our sincere sympathy to Frances and all the family in this sad loss, Steve and Bonnie Griffin

The Weiners were neighbors at Mansions by the Sea on Treasure Island. I remember Irving as an engaged and kind thoughtful person whenever our paths crossed. Enjoyed seeing him at our annual Holiday Dinner at Middlegrounds, where sometimes he kept the "peace'. A celebration of a life so very well lived; but condolences to Frances and his family.

Irving Wiener was a very special person that had opened a very sincere support to open our Turkish society to a great community of projective work. I will always remember his rich thoughts, deep knowledge and warm, containing attitude. He will be missed a lot.
