Edward Teagarden Beckett

October 28, 1941 - January 29, 2022

Beckett, Edward Teagarden, 80, of Land O Lakes, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2022 at the Rucki Hospice Care Center of Zephryhills. Edward was born on October 28, 1941 in Washington D.C. He was the son of the late Truman Duvall Beckett and late Edna Catherine DeBolt. Edward graduated from the Miami Edison High School in 1960; then proudly served his country as a regular and then a reservist member of the United States Marine Corps for 30 years. During his tenure he completed over 165 military parachute jumps, which he enjoyed immensely. Edward also worked for CSX Railroad for 30 years as a freight conductor. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Zeiler Beckett, their two children, Michael Edward Beckett and Jennifer Ann Beckett, four grandchildren, Michael Joseph Beckett, Matthew William Beckett, Avery Connerty, and Harrison Christopher Connerty, and Edward’s sister, Sarah Jane Beckett Brown. In retirement, Edward enjoyed his grandchildren, his neighbors and friends, golf, and riding his lawn tractor to care for his yard. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 10 AM until 12 PM at Trinity Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life is to follow at 12 PM at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
