David P. Boyd

August 18, 1952 - February 11, 2022

David Paul Boyd, age 69, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 11, 2022, after a short battle with lung cancer. David was born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania on August 18, 1952, to Joanne J. Boyd and Leonard Boyd. He grew up in the small town of Larimer, Pennsylvania as the oldest of three siblings. David enjoyed his adolescent years spending time in nature, playing with neighborhood friends, and sharing in his father’s love for classic, American-made cars. David graduated from Norwin High School in 1970. In high school, he was track & field captain, an avid student, and a friend to all -- to this day, his friends recall, “Everyone has a Dave Boyd story.” In 1983, David and his wife at the time, Desa, moved to the sunny state of Florida where they established their life and family. In his later years, David lived a humble and quiet life. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, going on adventures around Florida with his girlfriend, and visiting family and friends in Pennsylvania. David maintained his love for nature; he joyfully tended to his plants, photographed local birds and landscape, and fed the neighborhood squirrels. David is survived by his two children, Robert and Katherine; his mother Joanne; his sister Diane Waddell; his grandchildren Dominick, Lillian, Jaxsyn, and Mason; his niece and nephews Lindsay, Bryan, and Alex; and his girlfriend, Miriam “Mimzy.” He was preceded in death by his father Leonard and his younger brother Kenneth “Kenny.” David was laid to rest on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Trinity Memorial Gardens in the presence of his family and close friends.
