    Cielito Agoncillo

    August 13, 1944 - March 5, 2022

Cielito Agoncillo, 77, of Lutz, FL, passed away on March 5, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Cielito was born on August 13, 1944 to Carolina Quijano in Alaminos, Pangasinan, Philippines. He was a proud member of Union High School’s Class of 1960 and organized reunions and other gatherings for his classmates. He was also a graduate of Mapua Institute of Technology, where he studied mechanical engineering. On February 29, 1972, he left the Philippines for the United States to marry Lorlina Rivera. They wed that spring in Stamford, CT, going on to have three children: Brian, Aileen, and Cindy. In 1991 they moved to Pennsylvania, where Cielito continued his engineering career, which included receiving multiple patents. He loved seeing a problem and envisioning a solution, and he found it very satisfying to have an idea and see it come to life. Cielito retired at the end of 2009, and in 2014, he and Lorlina moved to Florida to be closer to Brian, his wife Emily, and their sons Alexander and Grayson. In his retirement, he enjoyed being an active Lolo to his grandsons and spending time in the garden. In addition to gardening, Cielito loved telling stories, writing, solving puzzles and riddles, singing, and listening to music. He loved to rebuild cars and restore old appliances or pieces of furniture. He was a generous man who offered his time, skills, and resources to love and serve others. Cielito was formerly a member of Langhorne United Methodist Church and began attending Bay Hope Church after moving to Florida. He dedicated his life to serving and worshiping the Lord, and he trusted in the goodness and faithfulness of Jesus throughout his journey with cancer. Cielito was predeceased by his parents and siblings David, Peter, and Cindy. He is survived by many loving family members, including his wife, Lorlina; their children, Brian (Emily), Aileen, and Cindy; and grandsons, Alexander and Grayson.
