Robert Zorn Sr.'s Obituary
Robert “Bob” W. Zorn, age 73, passed peacefully on August 11, 2023.
Born July 24, 1950 in Trenton, New Jersey. He served in the US Army and was a veteran. He had a substantial work career as a Corrections Officer at the Mercer County Correction Center, Hopewell, NJ where he retired after 25 years as a Lieutenant. During his career Bob was given many awards, including Officer of the Year. After retiring, he returned to work with the Mercer County Department of Public Safety in an administrative position.
During the 9/11 clean-up operations at Fishkill Landfill Staging site, Bob volunteered his services for two years. He was honored and recognized for his efforts by the County Executive for Mercer County.
In 2007, he realized a lifelong dream to move to Florida where he resided and enjoyed a wonderful community presence at Timber Greens Country Club. He enjoyed Nascar, golfing, fishing and many other activities.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia of 47 years, son Robert and wife Abbie, granddaughter Taylor, son Jeffrey and his wife Michele, his brother George and wife Peggy. He held a special place in his heart for his niece and goddaughter, Stasia Morlino and her husband Matt. In addition, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a man of few words but was truly a caring and honest man who enjoyed life and his family.
