As the neighbor who watched the Page children grow up with my own children, my emotions are raw, and my heart breaks for the Page family. Swayze was my son's first friend. As young children, they literally would talk into their walkie talkies from their bedrooms (their rooms faced one another across the alley) and make plans for whatever they were going to do the next day (football, video games, annoying their sisters). As it tends to happen, they grew apart as they grew up, their personalities very different, but there was always that friendship. Swayze was such a curious young man, always with a thirst for knowledge and a desire to do more. I was so proud to see him grow into an even more amazing young man, following in his parents' footsteps by becoming a teacher. He was outspoken, respectful, playful, and happy. I will miss his intellect and quick wit. I will miss Swayze and all he had yet to do.
