So sorry to hear of Mark's passing. I just saw it in the Florida Bar Journal. Met Mark and Jo Ellen through our children (T.J. and Kevin ) playing baseball together at Citrus Park in Tampa in the mid 90s. Always have fond memories of his doing work for me long before I even thought of becoming an attorney. Both Mark and Jo Ellen were just genuine people. Prayers for the entire family.

Dear Family: John & Mark et in 1966 when they were both waiters at Bern's. A wonderful friendship began; playing tennis, golf, cards. Mark's dry wit & humor was contagious.
Their friendship carried forward during Mark's marriage to Jo Ellen and as our attorney.
John also did work for Mark & Jo at both their home & office.
I met Mark in 1981 when John & I married. Mark's warmth, good counsel & commitment to family was always evident when we got together.

My clients needed an excellent attorney and the name Mark Mooney was given to me by John Edward Alley. Mark never let me and/or my clients down; he surpassed the definition of excellent. I was shocked when I read in the digital newspaper this morning of his passing. I know that he very much missed his wife of many years who predeceased him and the initial pandemic didn't treat him well. I had just spoke to him recently when he returned to his home after trying to reside in assisted care living only to return home to find that his family had disposed of all of his gardening tools. When I spoke to him he was on his way to buy "new." It's a shame that all attorneys can't be as reasonable, competent and kind as was Mark Mooney. May he, his wife and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

I have been friends with Mark (and then his family) since high school. He was then and always remained, a caring and loving friend to me and my husband. My husband, Mark and his brothers met in scouts and were a bonded group throughout school, as altar boys, as young adults and through adulthood- their friendship never faltered.
I pray that Mark is back with those that he cherished and that had gone before him. He was truly a beloved friend and mentor.
